Karthi was last seen in the film Thambi (2019) co-starring Jyothika, Sathya Raj and Nikila Vimal. Karthi's upcoming films include Sultan directed by Bhargyaraj Kannan and Ponniyin Selvan directed by Mani Ratnam. The film became a commercial success at the box-office and also received critical acclaim from notable politicians such as Venkaiah Naidu. Karthi starred in the film titled Kadaikutty Singam in 2018 directed by Pandiraj, after which he began contributing to the needy farmers. It will also be useful for livelihood purposes such as drinking water. It is said that the agricultural land that is spread around 10 thousand acres will be of great benefit to the farmers residing in 10 villages. The process was completed after 21 days of continuous work by the volunteers of the foundation. To clean the canal, as per TOI report, and facilitate the needs of farmers in the district, the foundation has spent Rs 4 lakh. Reportedly, the canal is about thirteen kilometres long which is surrounded by plants and shrubs. Karthi stressed the importance of preserving nature as he wrote, "Nature always gives back in abundance". The pictures show the difference of before and after alignment of a canal in Tirunelveli district. In his recent Twitter post, actor Karthi has shared the pictures of a canal in Tamil Nadu.
The foundation aims at several welfare activities for Tamil Nadu farmers. The Paruthiveeran actor began Uzhavan Foundation in 2019 on Thamizhar Thirunaal Pongal. Karthi's Kadaikutty Singam, released in 2018, talked about the welfare of farmersĪpart from being an actor, Karthi has also engaged himself in philanthropic activities.
